Painted Feathers

I have been painting on feathers since 2011. I use acrylic and small brushes to paint miniature illustrations and designs, sew the feather onto board with needle and thread. I wash and dry my feathers before painting, but they are not stiffened or hardened. I paint on feathers that are smaller than a pea up to some over two feet long. It can be difficult to tell what size feather you are seeing when looking at photos of my work, as feathers are fractal in nature.
